We are a team of enthusiasts who build and maintain a central data streaming service for Porsche AG. Our mission is to provide rock-solid service and, at the same time, to innovate and keep up with technology trends.
As we already provide a managed multi-tenant Apache Kafka platform service both on-premise and in the AWS cloud, our next goal is to make this platform entirely self-service and offer provisioning of dedicated Kafka clusters and Apache NiFi instances. We are also expanding to Azure in order to provide the service to all our clients (product teams at Porsche).
To achieve our goals, we are migrating our current solution to Kubernetes. This will provide a unified way of provisioning Kafka / NiFi clusters.
Qualifications & Experience
basic knowledge of Apache Kafka concepts and components (Zookeeper, Kafka brokers) and pub/sub concepts
familiarity with AWS cloud services, networking concepts
fair knowledge of a Linux system
understanding of SSL/PKI concepts
excellent knowledge of English
good problem-solving and analytical skills
willingness to learn new technologies
a drive to make your infrastructure better every day
experience with Kubernetes/container orchestration solution
experience with Strimzi
familiarity with Kafka Connect, Confluent Schema Registry, MirrorMaker2
familiarity with GitLab
building system architecture for provisioning Apache Kafka and NiFi clusters (both managed and dedicated)
developing and improving monitoring and alarming solutions for all the components of the platform
maintaining CI/CD pipelines for component provisioning
providing client support
participating in code reviews and other ways of sharing knowledge
continually improving your skills and pushing others to further advance their knowledge

Stimulating work environment
Our teams are product-based and we give them autonomy and freedom to do things their way. If they build a product, they own it and run it from start to finish.
We don’t go from one client to the next. Instead, we put all of our efforts into products for Porsche. This means no frantic fixes or pulling an all-nighter to fulfill the wishes of clients.
Taycan in garage
We use the Porsche Taycan 4s as one of the testing tools. With actual car testing, we never stop tweaking our development process and applying the knowledge we gain from it to the next feature we build, as well as existing ones.
Learning & Development
